Movie of the Year

(Ip Man 2) Donnie Yen as Yip Man, Wing Chun style master

I’m just finish watched this wonderful movie. I get this movie from one of my friend, copied from his PC through thumbdrive and store it into my laptop, about 2 weeks ago. I had watch this movie twice. Titled Yip Man @ Ip Man 2. This movie has two parts, and this is a new one – released this year. Another one was released 2 years ago (2008) but I didn’t watch it yet.

First movie (Ip Man) is about the life of Wing Chun style master, Yip Man in China Mainland during Japanese occupation and second movie (Ip Man 2) about Yip Man started his new life in Hong Kong and tried to spread his Wing Chun style. Ip Man 2 is situated after World War 2, in 1950 and British colonial is still occupying in Hong Kong. The role of Donnie Yen as Yip Man in this movie are effective. I like the way he’s act as a modest kung fu master.

Yip Man started his kung fu class on one of building rooftop and gain his students after being challenged by several young man. His Wing Chun style becomes famous after he has defeat the other kung fu master in kung fu association assembly. His calm, modest, kind and forgiving character might drives you crazy!

This movie also emphasized the value of family, be patient  in under adversity – when Yip Man’s family didn’t have sufficient money and the landlady decides to not give the rooftop space for practicing anymore. It also focusing on understanding and considerate in relationship when Yip Man wife understand his husband’s situation as kung fu master and did not to troubled his husband when the moment she want to give birth by prevent her son from telling her husband.

And most important – to defend the honour and dignity. Yip Man has challenged Twister – the British Boxer to fight because Twister had kill Master Hong, one of kung fu master and then he insults the Chinese tradition and martial art. At last, Yip Man managed to defeat Twister and retain the Chinese honour. One of his speech after defeat his opponent is – “We should start to respect each other” – pointed to all audience especially the Westerners.

About Yip Man (from Wikipedia)

Yip Kai Man was considered the first martial arts master (Chinese: Sifu) to teach the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun openly. He had several students who later became martial arts teachers in their own right, including Bruce Lee. He was born to Yip Oi Dor and Ng Shui, and was the third of four children. He grew up in a very wealthy family in Foshan, Guangdong, and received an exceptional traditional Chinese education. His older brother was Ip Kai Gak. Hard To Live!

It’s been a long time I am not update this site. I have 2 reasons. First, my priority is my blog for politics at blogspot and secondly is I must admit that I am not diligent to typing the keyboard. I don’t know what shall I write on this blog. It is not that I have no any idea to pour it in this site, but it is now mix and mix with many occasion and data in my head which make me so confuse and depress.

Ok, now I am going to story about myself as undergraduate in 5th semester, not many – a little bit. It seems that now it’s hard to live in here. My schedule are so tight. 7 subjects which I must finish all of them in this semester. And I also got the financial problem. Since my grandma just passed away (she was one of my money’s contributor), I must not spend the money as many as I want. I am not receive my loan yet. I hope the amount will be enough for me to survive in this semester. I need a certain of money to entertain myself.

Life as the undergraduate is so bored and tension. My head is hurt due to assignment, college environment, lesson in the class, presentation, can’t understand what we had studied, and so on. Plus, I am now in debt with my lecturer and I also need some money for my co-curriculum class – all of this has make my head hurt. I must do something to calm myself. I am planning to outing in city. I want to spoil myself in the bookstore, walking all the way in the middle of city’s crowded, looking at so many people’s action, and many more.

That’s why I need more money to calm myself. All of that requires a sum of money. Frankly, I dislike the environment in my college. I wanted to be alone. I wish I can forget all of this for a while. Now, instead of outing to the city, my daily routine is only staying quietly in my room when there are no classes and then if I want to walk, I’m walking to mamak stall outside of my college. In my reckoning, the distance between the mamak stall and my college is about half km.

FYI, I live in a room that consist 3 beds, 3 wardrobes, 3 study table, and 3 notice board. That means I am living with another 2 room mates, who is my junior. But they are rarely seen in this room, they prefers to  staying in another room near to mines. Perhaps I am too quiet so they are looking the friends that they can talk a lot. Hmm I dont know. Ok, that’s all. Next time I will write down and show the another story of mine. Bye.

cheers
